So much ado about names

Before I reformat a PC, one of the things that I usually think about is the name. For some reason I find it easier to work if I have some kind of rapport with my machine. Building rapport starts with the name.

Below are the names of the PC that I worked with. I think I missed two or three names.

Student Assistant Era

Shadow – The name of the first PC I used as a student assistant. I never gave the name. It already has that name when I inherited the PC. I retained the name though after a couple of reformats.

Blitz/Blitzkrieg – We have this fascination with Germany for while thus the name. The two hdd that I had has the labels Blitz and Krieg.

Julie – Julie is the name of one of our dogs. She is a proud(hindi magpapa-cute para himasin ang tyan) and intelligent dog. She died while giving birth.

Consultant/Programmer Era

Mohandas/Churchill – The great leader series.

<itago na lang sa pangalang Voldemort> – I even gave one of our web servers this name.

Laptop Era

Basroil – I named my temporary laptop(Compaq Armada) Basroil after the Abh warship of Lafiel(it was destroyed) from the anime Crest of the Stars.

Diaho – My official laptop is an NC4000(12 inch) so I named it after the cat of Ghintec from the anime Crest of the Stars.

Guyver – Guyver is a bio-boosted armor in the anime of the same name. This is the name I gave to my NC6000(I complained because the NC4000 was too small).

Misc

Odin – After reading Gaiman's American Gods I gave this name to the subversion server I was setting up then. Due to some network problems we were not able to use it. Later on when I was again setting up a subversion server I gave the same name.
